Computer Education Programme For Children

In this information age, children will benefit greatly from a head-start in IT. Donegal IT Centre is proud to present our specially developed Computer Education Programme for children from 6 to 14 year olds. We will assess and allocate classes according to proficiency. Children can learn basic computer, keyboard and mouse skills in Grade 1 then progress through the levels until they attain Grade 7, which they will be able to use word processing, spreadsheet, database, Internet and email.

Once the child has completed Grade 7, they have the choice to commence ECDL certified courses.

Contents • PC Basics • Basic Mouse Skill • Basic Keyboard Skill • Basic Typing skill • Creative use of Microsoft Paint	Pre-requisite None Minimum age requirement is 6 Schedule 1.5 Hours x 6 weeks.
Grade 2	€75
Contents • Improve Typing Skill and Speed • Formatting functions in Microsoft Word • ClipArt Function in Microsoft Word • Creative use of Microsoft Paint	Pre-requisite Basic computer skill or completed Grade 1. Schedule 1.5 Hours x 6 weeks.
Grade 3	€75
Contents • Word processing skill – creating and formatting multiple pages document. Inserting and deleting text, cut/paste techniques. • Creative use of ClipArt, WordArt and Autoshapes • Creating simple posters, notices and greeting cards	Pre-requisite Basic computer skill. Knows how to type and play CD game. Or completed Grade 2. Schedule 1.5 Hours x 6 weeks.

Contents • Extra Word Processing skill - letter & report writing & formatting • Surf the Internet safely • Sending & Receiving Email safely	Pre-requisite Familiar with using a computer and understand the concept of the Internet & Email. Or completed Grade 3. Schedule 1.5 Hours x 6 weeks.
Grade 5	€75
Contents • Files & Desktop Management • Creating tables using MS Word • Spreadsheet skill using MS Excel • Extra Internet & Email skill	Pre-requisite Familiar with using computer, Internet & Email and like to MS Excel. Or completed Grade 4. Schedule 1.5 Hours x 6 weeks.

Contents • Basic History Of Computers • Formal Typewriting Skill • Extra Spreadsheet Skills Using MS Excel • Creating Presentation Slides With MS PowerPoint	Pre-requisite Familiar with using computer, spreadsheet, Internet & Email and word processing. Or completed Grade 5. Schedule 1.5 Hours x 6 weeks.
Grade 7	€75
Contents • Concept Of IT • Extra Desktop & File Management • Extra MS Powperpoint Skill • Creating Databases using MS Access	Pre-requisite Knows how to use word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software and Internet & Email. Or completed Grade 6. Schedule 1.5 Hours x 6 weeks.
ECDL for Children (Certified Program)	€75 Per module
Contents • Basic Concepts of IT • Using the Computer & Managing Files • Word Processing • Spreadsheets • Database/Filing Systems • Presentation • Information Network Services (Internet)	Pre-requisite Familiar with managing files, word processing, spreadsheet, database & presentation software, Internet and email. Or completed Grade 7. Schedule 1.5 hrs x 3/4/5 weeks per module
